Logging Activity Starting Any Day Now!

Please be advised that timber harvesting will be taking place in the vicinity of Rob’s Corners, Ed’s Bypass, the BC Hydro Access Road north of the SORCA Kiosk (Mashiter Trail on the attached maps), and the Alice Ridge Forest Service Road (i.e. the access to Ed’ Bypass and Made in the Shade) from now through the first week of December. Hauling will take place immediately after felling until December 16. Felling may occur through the weekend, although hauling would be confined to weekdays (subject to further notice). Hauling will be via the Ring Creek North Forest Service Road (Northside Connector).

Sqomish Forestry has been working with SORCA and the District of Squamish on the logging plan, and will have a flag person on site whenever timber harvesting is within 2 tree lengths of a trail. Although the trails will remain open, there may be some delays during this time period. For your safety, please obey the safety signage instructions of flag personnel.

Sqomish Forestry has also modified the cut block to avoid Ed’s Bypass which originally was included in the block. SORCA and the District of Squamish would like to thank Sqomish Forestry for their consideration of the trail system when planning and harvesting this cut block.

See area details in the maps provided here: Timber Harvest Nov 2011. pdf
