Rides & Events
The group rides are the backbone of the SORCA community, without a doubt. If you are new to town or a long time local, our rides are the ticket. It’s a great way to get out and meet people and learn the trail network.
Volunteer to help out with rides, contact us by email here. We need marshals and people to flag the trails and more.
A popular event for adults and youth over aged 12 are the Toonie Rides. Every second Wednesday we meet, sign you up for a mere $2 and time your ride. At the end of the ride everyone meets for a BBQ and socializing. Rides often take the average riders 60 – 90 minutes depending on the length of the course. Expect some intermediate single track. If you’re not comfortable riding some of the tricky spots, take your bike for a hike. Learn more >
Alternating on Wednesdays with the XC Toonies are the Downhill Toonies. These rides generally more technical, have a variety of courses presenting a variety of challenges. Riders are timed and spaced 1 minute apart. The evenings are topped off with a post ride BBQ with other riders from the Social Ride. Learn more >
Social Wednesdays are at the same time as the Downhill Toonies and alternate with the XC Toonie. They are casual and non-competitive. If you are new to the Toonie scene you might want to start here. Get to know the trails, Squamish’s great mountain biking community and join the riders from the DH Toonie for a backyard BBQ afterwards. Learn more >
The Gravity Girlz is a social riding group for women who love to ride their mountain bikes and are looking to ride with other women on our beautiful local downhill trails. Our rides provide Girlz with an opportunity to explore different DH trails each week and at the same time improve their confidence and skills in a fun, supportive, and non-competitive environment. Social rides are scheduled twice/week for both intermediate and advanced riders on Diamond Head. We also encourage Girlz to join us at the DH Toonies and trail maintenance days! Learn more >
Races & Other Events
Usually SORCA organizes a couple of larger, fun race events such as the Bill Landry Lunar Enduro and others. Info will be posted as it becomes available. If you would like to step up and help us organize a larger event like this, please email us. Within the community, large bike races take place a few times a year. These include the Test of Metal, GearJammer and more.
