Top loamy section is disgustingly soft and wet, and the ride up is really chewed up from moto’s. Almost unridable up, and really slow going down. I won’t ride it until next summer when it’s dry again.

FYI: Bear seen today on Somewhere Over There just before drunken boardwalk. He was a pleasant looking fellow who was just sauntering along as we sang songs to alert him of our presence as we rode by. We didn’t sound very good but he didn’t seem to mind.

I heard that the bridge across the mashiter has been removed because it was not built to last (out of cottonwood), but I haven’t been out to see.

  4. Jordan says:

Just a note, you need to stay at least two tree lengths from any logging activity. That means if the trees around the fallers are 100 feet high, you need to keep 200 feet away. Falling trees bounce, splinter, and roll, and the safe zone is much farther than most people realize. Let’s give these folks a wide berth until they’re all finished up!

  5. Meg says:

If anyone gets a chance, a closed sign at the top of the trail would be helpful. We rode it this weekend & came across a closed sign at the very end of the trail, just before the trail enters the logging site – by then its too late to turn back!

Is this the trail off of Hoods? Just curious what the status of that trail is?
