SORCA Social June 28th 2017 – Capra Running, Mtn Fun Basecamp & Optomeyes Eyecare

$2 Reminder

Thank you to everyone who brought their $2 to the last social! For those of you who weren’t at the last Social or didn’t get the memo, after a few years of having free SORCA Socials, we’ve decided to start charging a $2 again. All the money will go back into the trails. By charging for the Socials we can keep a trail crew member working for an extra THREE weeks, which will keep the trails running well! Please try to remember to bring a toonie. We’ll collect it at the after party.

The Sponsors

Capra Running Mtn Fun Basecamp Optomeyes Eyecare

Capra Running is your one stop running shop in town. They carry Scott, Topo Athletic, Dynafit, Inov, Altra, La Sportiva, and Perl Izumi shoes, clothing and accessories! The clothing isn’t limited to running. There are some technical fabric tops that are great for biking and some hydration packs that would be amazing to have on long rides. If you feel like doing some cross training they also have some running groups that you should join as well as some camps and events.

Mtn Fun Basecamp is the best place to stay when you’re visiting Squamish. Located at the end of the Wonderland trail by Alice Lake, they have tent sites, RV sites, and a hotel! This year they’re also introducing bike rentals and shuttles. There is also a bike wash and a repair stand so you can care for your much beloved bicycle after a fun day on the trails. If you have family or friends coming to town, let them know that Mtn Fun Basecamp is the place to stay!

Optomeyes Eyecare is the place to go for all your eye needs in Squamish. They have an in-house Laser refractive surgery specialist, state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and technology (allowing for thorough examinations), an in-house glasses lab for fast turn-around times, contact lenses including, overnight vision correcting lenses, a large selection of brand-name glasses and sunglasses and the best darn eye doctors you could ever ask for. Do yourself a favour and book an appointment online with Dr. Bowden, Dr. Davidson or any of their other top notch docs. Take care of those eyes!

The Apres

These THREE amazing first time sponsors have really raised the bar for this week’s SORCA social ride.

FREE SHUTTLE for 40 lucky people
FREE SHOWERS, bring a towel
THE BEST DARN PRIZES PACKAGES I’VE EVEN SEEN (Heli-drop rainbow, whitewater rafting, Oakley and Smith sunglasses)

Bring your tent, your trailer or just your bivy sack. Sleep under the stars after an amazing bike ride with your SORCA friends.
Mtn Fun Basecamp (formally Wonderland Resort) has you covered for accommodation and showers after the ride and even has a bike wash so you can keep your bike clean too. If your family would like to come and join you for camping after the apres, they are more than welcome.
After getting cleaned off you’ll be treated to some amazing Mexican food as you sip beverages and mingle. “Remember that root? Remember that rock? So much fun!” Not only are these local businesses feeding you and quenching your thirst, they’re also giving away some amazing prizes! Ever been in a helicopter with four friends and your bikes? Ever been on a rafting trip? Ever wear some Oakley or Smith shades? If you said yes, to any of those, then you’re a lucky person. If no, then this is your chance! Get whisked away to the top of Rainbow Mountain with your bikes, raft down a whitewater river and look super cool in a new pair of shades.
The bar has been raised. /mic drop
