Lower Diamond Head Trail Work

With such great support from our now nearly 1600 members – We’ve brought on Dream Wizards to rework some of the high traffic arteries on on lower diamond head. Work will be going on intermittently over the few months and the trails will remain open. Be sure to get the machine operator’s attention when passing by.

The first part of the Megacy Climb after Flat Alley has some ugly 30% grade sections that we are going to make more reasonable so that even our Social Ride Director Eric will be able to climb them. Big questions remain: Will Strava recognize old segments ? Honour that you nearly puked up that hill and that your old times should be preserved for eternity? Statues of the old QOM’s and KOM’s were considered but probably not in the budget this year.

Apologies to our wonderful bike shops, brake pad sales might take a hit next year – the middle section of Psedotsuga 3 between where Your Mom joins in and Flat Alley is going to get reworked next to better match the character of that above and below with big grade reversals and wider corners where the mountain allows.  No more land speed records to 90 degree corners to end your ride.
