Mid-Season Etiquette Reminder

As we find ourselves deep in the swing of a busy riding season, it is the perfect time for a mid-season reminder on trail etiquette. With so many different trail users sharing the network, a little mutual respect goes a long way toward keeping our trails friendly, safe, and fun for everyone!

For all riders, please keep these guidelines top of mind during your laps:

  • Call out or use a bell to give a friendly heads-up before passing someone.

  • Faster riders yield to slower riders on climb trails. Let them know you are there and wait for them to give you a clear, safe spot to pass.

  • Pull completely off the trail if you need to stop for a break or a chat so the path stays open and clear for others.

  • Avoid riding sensitive trails during extremely wet conditions to prevent unnecessary erosion and trail damage.

  • Remember, some e-bikes are used by individuals with visible and invisible disabilities. Please be courteous to people using adaptive bikes to access our trail network.

For the e-bike community, with extra power comes (a bit of) extra responsibility on shared networks.

  • E-bikes yield to non-ebikes on all trails, regardless of direction, including climb trails.

  • Please avoid tailgating analog riders; give them plenty of space, say hi, and wait for a safe pullout or an explicit verbal invitation before making a move.

  • Lastly, please watch the torque on steep or loose corners so you do not spin your tires and tear up the fresh dirt.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our trail network safe, sustainable, and welcoming for all users!
