Volunteer appreciation night
5,000+ volunteer hours. That’s what you gave this community in 2026, roughly two and a half years of full-time work. It came from 80 volunteers a day at The Loam Hustler and The OneUP DH, 20 at every XC & Enduro race, 15 to 45 swinging tools at every Dig Day, plus our social media crew, Board, and committees putting in hours every month. This was a tough year for recruitment. Fewer people signed up, so those who did carried a lot more, and many of you said yes three or four times. To our regulars and OGs: when we were stuck, you stepped in every single time. Every berm you ride, every race that ran on time, every trail that drained after a storm: that was you. Squamish’s trails don’t build themselves. To the diggers, marshals, chair stackers, governance makers, and everyone who couldn’t say no: thank you.
We had the privilege of celebrating that spirit at Howe Sound Brewing for our season-end volunteer appreciation party on Wednesday, October 21st. It was amazing to connect, enjoy great food and beer, play trails trivia, and celebrate the collective impact of your hard work over the past year. Enjoy a few snapshots from the evening below, and a heartfelt thank you from all of us at SORCA for an unforgettable season!
