Your OCP and Your Chance to Shape It

Over the past year the SORCA Board has been working diligently with the DOS to push forward trail friendly policy in the OCP. We are quite pleased with how the importance of trails has been recognized through the addition of several key policies throughout the document. This reflects the high value our residents put on trails and recognizes the economic benefit that MTB brings to our community. In addition, and tied to this process, we have also recently signed a Memo of Understanding with Mr. Cheema that provides what we feel is an innovative way to manage growth in our community while protecting key trail assets.

I would like to thank Matt Gunn and Sarah McJannet (DOS plannners) who have been working extremely hard on this OCP draft. They have been very cooperative and very open to our feedback. Also, thank you to all who have submitted feedback throughout the process. SORCA has one voice, but each citizens voice is equally important. The more that speak, the more that are heard.

The OCP Public Hearing is tonight and tomorrow (March 12 and 13) starting at 6pm at Brennan Park. This is the last major opportunity to share your support, your proposed improvements, or your concerns for this plan. We encourage everyone who is passionate about shaping what our community will look like in the future to attend and speak up.
