Proceed with caution

As noted last week, the commencement of Squamish Community Forest hauling from the Cheekye basin (see our post from Jan. 4th for full background) is commencing immediately. Riders and community members can expect to see increased traffic of construction and forestry-related vehicles on the following work path - **Mamquam Rd - Highlands Way South - Boulevard - Garibaldi Pk Rd. - Ring Creek Rd. - Northside Connector - Mashiter (from SORCA shelter at Alice Lake Access Rd)**. There will be closures to the following trails:

  • Made in the Shade, Mini Tracks and Dead End Loop trails will be closed from March 5, 2024, until the completion of the harvest and log hauling phases of blocks MAS217 and MAS218

  • Rock n’ Roll and Bob McIntosh Memorial trail will continue to be closed

Harvest and Log Hauling phases on MAS217 and 218 are anticipated to be completed by April 15, 2024. In conjunction with this work, the lower 1/3 of the half Nelson parking lot (portion below Ring Creek turnoff) and the road parking across from the pseudo lot will also be closed Monday to Friday to accommodate the turning radius needed by these work vehicles.

Signage is in place for work vehicles and trail users at the affected intersections. Please respect the signage and proceed with caution when riding on and crossing the work paths.
